Na Lala I Kantan Chamorrita Para I Probechu'n I Lenguahi

2015 – 2018 – PIPIT, Inc. was awarded a three-year language grant “Na Lala I Kantan Chamorrita Para I Probechu'n I Lenguahi”, from the Administration for Native Americans (ANA). This project is to increase the speaking/usage of the Chamorro language through the revitalization of the traditional practice of “Kantan Chamorrita”. By apprenticing four (4) Fafana’gues, leaders of organized Gumas (cultural houses) with the living elders learning the knowledge of “Kantan Chamorrita” increasing their ability to speak/use the Chamorro language on a daily basis. This project produced CD/DVD and have become valuable resources for Department of Education Chamorro Studies Division, and the community of cultural practitioners.
